Friday night Greg Sheehan's TIME laid down the law, beautiful skillfull contemporary trance based sound totally improvised and what a treat to see one of Australia's great drummers emerge as a guitarist! Go Greg! Thanks to his excellent band with Matt Hill on the big banjo bass thingy too.
Wild Marmalade gave us some of their outstanding organic trance in their own inimitable style. After 1hr15min of solid improvised dance music that had the whole dancefloor going off, they took a brief pause, Si says "well that was our first song" Wild Marmalade also hosted the excellent Sunday morning jam.
There was a strong Bundjalung presence at the festival this year,
only fitting as Exodus is held on Bundjalung country.
Thanks to all the Koori mob who turned up and worked so hard.
We are grateful for the culture and wisdom we were given,
the language lessons, the dances and stories, the ceremonies
and protection offered on us all while we danced and
made our own new stories together.
GARAMAH BOLOGAMAN - respect our mob.
There was also a very strong Japanese presence at Exodus 2006, indeed
several of the new organisers of Exodus are from Japan with strong ties
to the vibrant Trance and Jamband scenes there and in the U.S.
So we were lucky to have some of the hottest underground acts from
Japan gracing our stages and giving us their best music, we all loved it.
Who can forget JIKOOHA on Friday night with their driving trance and guitar sound. Saturday night, UNI hammering it on drums and synth, even the old theramin, to create that live psy-trance sound, one of them also did a beautiful set in his own act SINE 6 . We were also lucky to hear music from dj DOMINO that beautiful daughter of Goa trance now hailing from Tokyo, also thanks for the sweet ambient sounds from dj SAYAKA. Sunday night, after the Bundjalung led ceremony, GOMA had us hopping with his one man Didge and electronic trancey sounds. Big surprise hits of the festival were DACHAMBO, amazing 6 piece acid-rock jamband, that played for us Sunday night .
Our guests from the USA were the astounding PNUMA trio. Anyone who caught their set on Sunday night has been raving about it since. Several of our best drummers were seen gobsmacked at the masterful playing of 20 yr old Lane on the kit, an organic monster surely fed on drum machines. Look out for PNUMA .

Also Saturday night the spectacle of fire and light, arranged by Clint Hurrel.
Thanks to all the fire dancers, drummers, body painters and all of you that played a part in this amazing event.
